What brings you back to Crossfit each day?
The people. You to Bradley.
4.6 first round and 5.7 the second 185dl
The fact that I am a relentless masochist. No seriously, the group work outs and the desire to be in the top 20 in the masters division for the open next year. “I love crossfit, my trainers, and co-crossfiters”
Yea Jorge! Masters 2013 here we come! It’s awesome to watch you come into the box everyday and see you give it your all. Your hard work will pay off.
Getting back into the box for the first time in over 3 months. Here we go.
The desire of needing to get better.
The personal satisfaction and the results.
Getting to see results in so short time, and pushing myself to see how far I can go. It just feels good !
Keeping fit over 50 is hard but CF is a fun way to do it!!
I ask myself that question everyday.
It started out about me- my results, my feeling of accomplishment after a tough WOD, my drive to get a little better every day. However, it’s becoming more about the community- working out along side equally dedicated athletes who are giving everything they have each day to make a positive change. I love it when someone I’ve never even met gives me the encouragement that I need to finish strong, just as I love doing the same for others. Finally, working with the dedicated coaches every day is one of the main things keeping me coming back. It’s way more than a job for them. They are all committed to me getting better.
I want to get toned and lean
The everyday challenge of CF and the sense of community definitely keeps me coming back for more!
Deadlifts/reverse lunge AMRAP, felt great, 6 rounds + 11 reps. (#225)
Pullups/Ring rows/bent over rows AMRAP, not so great, 4 rounds + 2.
4rds+16 reps. 5rds+6reps.
After spending my 20s in horrible shape (injured, lazy, unenthusiastic, etc), it feels great being fit. Don’t ever want to revert back to those days.
1st part 4.5 rounds RX 2nd part 7 rounds @135.
There are a few things that bring me back daily…the unknown and the unexptected WOD for the day…everything changes on a day to day basis, no monotony. Being with the same group every morning…and hearing your name being called from across the room towards the end of the WOD to give that final push…wouldn’t trade my 5:30 class for anything! Especially Brad!!!
I echo this, I have tried few different hours and its not the same.
no way, Stani! you and i have laughed over things many times with just a simple look LOL can’t say we can do that at any time of day!!!
The community, the constant variation, being able to do things I never did before, and the fantastic way I feel after the WOD is over. Plus it’s fun to say I’m a crossfitter…
I started Crossfit almost 3 years ago when my oldest son was just 3 years old and starting to understand what was going on. I was fat, lazy and out of shape. I realized then that this was not the example that I should be setting for my children. Since then, my children see my wife and I crossfitting on a daily basis and they see that this a normal way of life.
In addition, I am in the best shape of my life at age 37 and have accomplished things that I never thought possible. I am super proud to have made the CFG Team for CWG II.
Deadlifts/reverse lunge AMRAP: 6 rounds @ 225lbs
Pullups/Ring rows/bent over rows AMRAP: 4 rounds
Today was my first real day, so as I keep coming back, I’ll let you know.
Pullups/ring rows/bent over rows 3+14
Deadlift/Reverse lunge 6
Competing with Carlos and watching Brad make him suffer.
Pullups wod = 4 rds RX
DL wod = 7 rds RX
No suffering today, and I come back hoping to beat you on a consistent basis not just on days when you are hung over and I’m at my peak! You are a better crossfitter because of me!
pull up wod, 4 rds10 reps!RX Got you Nick!
DL wod 5rds 6 reps. RX
I come back because I am an addict!
I am a better cross fitter because of you, but if you start beating me on a consistent basis I will quit drinking!
So today was my first day back after a six month long hiatus due to reconstructive knee surgery. Today was a challenge, but I finished it. Thanks Brad for the push and the nice people at 7:30 am. (I use to be a 6:30 am). Now I’m going to pass out at my desk.
So happy that you are back!!!
It feels great to be back at CFG, even though I barely lift my note pad to take notes during my meeting with clients this am.
yeah!
AMRAP 1 = 3 +2 rounds AMRAP 2 = 5 rounds
Results keep me coming back. Blogging is a perk, too.
wod – AMRAP 1: 4+3 and AMRAP 2: 5+1 (deadlifts – hate ‘em – @ 165)
qod – constant variation keeps it interesting
It brings me to believe in a power greater than myself that restores me to sanity.
4+1 and 5 rounds
AMRAP 1: 6.5 AMRAP 2. 3+6
- all modified and not pretty…esp pullups and ring rows
Only been coming for a little over a month, but I have to agree with Rebecca: the camaraderie, varied workouts, great coaches and seeing results (maybe not seeing physical results yet, but I know I’m getting stronger and knowing that helps with the mental part). Puny muscles o’mine…you’ve been warned..lol
PS A big shout out to whoever turned in my ring last week…THANK YOU!!
5 rds/6 rds
I come back because crossfit cg has become my sanctuary. It offers an escape from the world, and in that hr nothing else matters but the task in front of me. I come back for the people and for the coaches. And plus who doesn’t like looking good naked
The challenge, the varied workouts, the PR’s and my husband nagging me.
It is a passion, the passion to push yourself to the limit today and try to exceed yesterday’s accomplishments.
185LB Thrusters/ 9 Rounds RX
Chris nailed it! it’s the passion! I would definitely add the community and the coaches to that mix
Feeling great and looking great
Its become an addiction, I like that the wods are different every day and there are always people there to push and help you.
I keep coming back because of the variation of workouts, environment to push myself to be better and the fantastic feeling when I get home.
In no particular order:
- the best coaching staff
- great community
- variability
- it’s fun/not boring
- stress elimination/life balance
- extras, such as nutrition lectures, access to specialized classes, various events
- RESULTS
Love to hate it and hate to love it. It is the best and worst part of my day and I’m so glad to share it with a great group of trainers and dedicated people. Keep the scary wods coming!
My 8:30 teammates and coach pushing me to my limits and helping me acheive my goals!
WOD1: 3+15 RX
WOD2: 4+2 RX
1. Vanity
2. Community
At first, I just wanted to lose a little weight and feel in shape. Now it’s the challenge of a new wod every day, pushing myself beyond what I ever thought I was capable of because of my class and coach. I’m no closer to be an Olympian but I’m light years from where I was just 4 months ago.
Loved the wod today… Need to get better at thrusters (actually front squats).
5 rounds and then 7 rounds at 95lbs.
The challenge, incredible trainers, the comradery, and the sense of satisfaction after completing each WOD…
5 rds / 3 rds Rx… I come back to be able to “no rep” Danny, thank you for the opportunity this morning.
Great WOD today, harder than expected but maybe because it was Monday… What makes me go back each day is my love for food
Ohhh and the people are super nice… the fact that it is always challenging and never boring is also a HUGE plus!!! See you guys tomorrow!!!
Pull up WOD: RX, 4 rounds + 14 reps
DL WOD: RX, 4 rounds + 2 reps
I’m going to blame my results today to not realizing I need rest after a session with Brad. See y’all Wednesday, I’m beat!
nothing wrong with those numbers teammate! Great Job man!
Thanks, but believe me, I was dragging ass!
I’m hooked on CF!
Dead lifts/Lunges = 4 rds/2 reps @ 225
Rings/DB/pull ups = 4 rds/ 20 reps
Qod – the friends I have made, Brad, and my desire to no be FAT keep me coming back
Pull up WOD- 3 rds + 6
DL WOD- 6 rds + 6 @ 135lbs
As to what keeps me coming back, the trainers and their dedication to what they do. I left the bootcamp I was at previously after almost 2 years because of the trainers lack of desire and motivation for what he did. Even worse, his lack of motivation in motivating us! I love the personal attention everyone gets and the results I have seen in myself in just 8 months of Crossfit also keep me coming back!
Bcuz I love CF
Best Coaching Staff. And the Variability of every day classes , Thanks CFG & Staff
What brings me back …
The great coaches and fantastic facility.
Also, the desire to be the best possible version of myself surrounded by others who want the same.
Thrusters 45
Deadlifts 80
4rds/6rds
I keep coming back because the endorphin rush is like no other and Crossfit is just fun!
I enjoy the physical effort… The beat down! I like how technical it is, i love learning the skills and form. It challenges me both physically and mentally. Plus, I love our coaches!
4.5rds (135lb Dl) and 3rds
So lets start of with FACT that all the coaches are the bomb diggity and they make it a better environment to keep going to improve ourselves physically and mentally.
Now what brings me back to Crossfit Gables is my personal goal of one day competing in the Crossfit Games and placing first to become the fittest on earth.
5+3 and 2 pull ups DL 225 pounds
WOD #1: 3 + 11 Reps Rx
WOD #2: 3 + 18 Reps (DL @ 175# the first round then 165#)
Thrusters: 65/85/95/100/110(PR)
What keeps me coming back? The people I’ve met and the friends I’ve made. The constant desire to be better than yesterday. THE CHALLENGE. The respect I have for my coaches and the progress and success I have seen myself go through. It truly is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
There’s something about getting to know people when it’s before the hour of 7 am….sweaty. Keeps me coming back.
Pull up Wod: 3 rd+ 3 my arms are still numb!
DL WOD: 5rds @175 lbs
QOD: the desire to get better. It’s a constant competition with myself and one that I can’t get enough of.
Wod 1: 5 rounds RX
Wod 2: 5 rounds 4 DL RX
The challenge, the community, the coaches but most of all it’s fun.
I’m loving the thrusters more and more….what brings me back are the workouts and my motivation to dominate my weaknesses
It feels great to see you guys and girls overcome obstacles and become better athletes!!
Every time I feel like sleeping in or bein lazy, I look at my progress and watch an episode of the biggest loser. Motivation can be your best friend!
The militant trainers, the energy from my fellow crossfitters and the weekly achievements. The hardest part of Crossfit is getting to the box. Once you’re there, it’s easy peazy
and FUN!
first day back after over 3 months wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be but i went too heavy on the DL’s and sacrificed my form. lower back aching a little today. Just a reminder for me to ALWAYS put form over WOD score. The sporty/competitive nature of crossfit can easily blind us to the importance of form. My goal is to be healthy and strong, not to get injured or be some kind of sports champion.
what brings me back to the box is the fact of finding out what else I am able to do.. everyday is a new experience a new expectation and a new goal..
6 rnds total rx
